      Project Manager II

      The Department of Administration's Office of Technology and Information Services (OTIS) is the state’s central provider of IT services to state government agencies. Our Project Management team is maturing and growing. If you are customer service oriented, enjoy driving projects, and thrive in the efficiency IT brings to an organization, this position is for you! As a Project Manager within our team, you will manage and coordinate strategic and tactical projects ranging from moderate to high complexity and risk. Department of Administration is a shared services organization which gives you the opportunity to work with many agencies as well as our internal customers here at OTIS.       Responsibilities of the Project Manager II:
      • Manage and direct al phases of the project life cycle for assigned projects using project management methodologies.
      • Monitor the implementation of all Division of Technology Operations (DTO) and Division of Information Security (DIS) services as assigned.
      • Conduct research to thoroughly define project scope and requirements.
      • Identify the resources and skill sets required to complete the project and identify necessary internal project resources for the project sponsor.
      • Develop project communication plans and ensure success of external communications.
      • Develop project work plans, project schedules, monitor budget, control scope and schedule to ensure project deliverables, milestones and required tasks are completed as planned.
      • Identify potential problems; facilitate problem resolution by determining and implementing a risk mitigation strategy.
      • Coordinate requests and recommend changes from original specifications with project sponsor, project team, or stakeholders.
      • Develop and maintain required project documentation throughout the entire project lifecycle.
      • Coordinate review meetings and project status reports to provide updates to project stakeholders and sponsors.
      • Maintain project management expertise and familiarity with accepted best practices through self-study, professional journals, or participation in professional forums.
      • Perform other duties as assigned.
      • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business management, public administration, or information technology and five (5) years of experience in project management.

      Additional Requirements:
      • Ability to plan, organize and manage strategic and tactical assignments and project management activities associated with state-wide enterprise and agency level information technology Initiatives.
      • Manage the overall planning, execution and delivery of multiple projects.
      • Delivery timely project health and performance reports.
      • Identify, monitor, track, resolve and escalate Issues within established guideline.
      • Must be able to work with a diverse group of professionals in all levels of the organization.
      • Clear understanding of best practices-based project management principles and methodologies.
      • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.

      • Seven (7) or more years of project management experience is preferred.
      • Certified Project Management, PMI training or PMP certification is preferred.
      • Prior experience managing security related projects a plus.
