      Position Summary

      The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all phases of assigned construction projects from preconstruction through completion, ensuring performance meets financial, quality, safety, and schedule objectives. This position operates with minimal supervision and exercises significant independent judgment in managing project teams, budgets, client relationships, and subcontractor coordination. The Project Manager plays a critical role in strategic project planning, execution, and overall business development.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities

      • Assumes full ownership of project execution including schedule, budget, scope, and client satisfaction.
      • Leads project financial management including cost tracking, labor forecasting, billing, change order pricing, cash flow analysis, and profitability reporting.
      • Directs the planning and coordination of all construction activities in accordance with contract documents and internal standards.
      • Exercises discretion and independent judgment in resolving complex project-related issues, conflicts, and unforeseen conditions.
      • Manages contract administration including compliance, amendments, insurance, bonding, and payment terms.
      • Develops and leads project-specific work plans, schedules, procurement strategies, manpower forecasts, and safety plans.
      • Acts as the principal liaison between clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment and issue resolution.
      • Oversees project documentation and ensures records comply with internal controls and contractual requirements.
      • Reviews and negotiates subcontractor proposals, scopes of work, and award recommendations.
      • Leads or participates in business development, preconstruction estimating, and proposal development.
      • Provides direction, coaching, and performance feedback to Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, and support staff.
      • Conducts regular jobsite visits to verify progress, ensure quality, and maintain stakeholder communication.
      • Ensures all safety, quality, and risk management protocols are consistently implemented.
      • Facilitates project closeout including punch list resolution, turnover documentation, and client sign-off.
      • Performs other duties as assigned to support business operations and strategic goals.

      Qualifications


      Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

      • Strong leadership, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
      • Proven ability to manage multimillion-dollar construction projects with limited oversight.
      • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and client relationship management abilities.
      • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and change management.
      • Proficiency in construction software tools including Bluebeam, Accubid, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling programs.
      • Ability to analyze technical drawings and specifications to inform decisions.
      • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and quality assurance.
      • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize across multiple concurrent projects.
      • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

      Education and Experience

      • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
      • Minimum 5 years of experience managing commercial or industrial electrical construction projects.
      • Experience with project financial controls, estimating, and field coordination required.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

      • Move about on the feet regularly. Sit for extended periods of time.
      • Requires the ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
      • May require travel.
      • Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
      • Talk and hear, ability to communicate with others both written and orally and by telephone.
      • Possess good vision, normal or corrected. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision to discern color coded wires, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
      • Possesses good hearing, normal or corrected.
      • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest), as needed.
      • Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts, as needed. Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite.
      • Must be able to work in the presence of customers and their representatives with little or no interference or disruption to the customer while maintaining a professional and courteous image.
