- Develop and implement comprehensive project plans including timelines, milestones, and budget;
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion;
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives;
- Lead and manage project teams, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration;
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including farmers, government agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners;
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and workshops to gather input and feedback;
- Represent the project in public forums and present project updates and outcomes;
- Oversee project budgets, ensure financial resources are used efficiently, prepare financial reports and ensure compliance with donor and organizational requirements;
- Conduct regular field visits to assess progress and address challenges;
- Identify potential risks to project success and develop mitigation strategies;
- Monitor risk factors throughout the project lifecycle and take proactive measures to address them;
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements;
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports and updates;
- Performs any other duties assigned by the Principal Investigator (PI).
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics or Social Sciences, Agricultural Sciences or specialized training in Project Management
- Proven experience in managing agricultural projects, particularly in horticultural crops or vegetable production.
- Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or sustainable agriculture practices can be beneficial.
- Minimum of seven years of relevant work experience, preferably with an international non-governmental and humanitarian organization.
- Proficiency in project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Strong budgeting and financial management skills to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting, stakeholder engagement, and team collaboration.
- Capability to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ability to develop long-term strategies to achieve project goals and ensure sustainability.
- Ability to negotiate with stakeholders, suppliers, and partners to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Strong networking skills to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including farmers, government agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners.
- Birr 71,122 per month (Negotiable depending on salary history of the candidate)

Terms of appointment: This is a National Staff (NS) position, initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal, contingent upon individual performance and the availability of funds.
