  The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
  The person hired for the position of Project Manager will lead high priority New Technology and New Product commercialization programs targeting new applications in Display and Electronics Product Platform with a focus on Semiconductor Fabrication Materials and Processes New Product Development. The Project Manager will be accountable for managing the timeline, resourcing, critical issue resolution and progress of the cross-functional development team. Potential commercialization programs will support the vertical businesses including Automotive and Consumer Electronic Displays, Displays, Electronics, and Semiconductor Materials.

  • Lead a cross-functional team of scientists, engineers, and business personnel to define areas of opportunity, value proposition, technical approaches, intellectual property, and manufacturing options ultimately leading to successful commercialization.
  • Accountable for maintaining project schedule, scope, deliverables, budget, risk management, stakeholder/customer communication and approvals, and key project deliverables as needed.
  • Provides task-level guidance to team members as necessary and may provide guidance in terms of performance and development.
  • Will maintain expertise in technical functional areas sufficient to carry out leadership duties, contribute to advancement of the team, and to effectively leverage a network of company resources.
  • Will maintain expertise in Project Management Methodologies to advance capabilities of self and team.

  Your Skills and Expertise

  To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Five (5) years of product development experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Three (3) years of experience in project management and/or team leadership in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Five (5) years of experience in Semiconductor Material and Processes

  Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline from an accredited University
  • Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Consumer electronics industry experience (OLED, LCD, backlight, components, device manufacturing, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
  • Ability to influence including clarifying risks and opportunities with stakeholders
  • Experience leading global cross-functional teams
  • Microsoft Office and Project proficient
  • Experience with 3M New Product Introduction Process and Executing Gate Reviews, or other Phase-Gate Process

  Work location: Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Maplewood, MN at least 1 day per week)

  Travel: May include up to 2 0% domestic/international

  Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $141,150 - $172,517, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
