Mamaland Malawi is currently developing a handful of sustainable projects across the country. The MoRe MALAWI – an agroforestry recovery project covering an area of approximately 350,000 hectares - represents a visionary and all-encompassing endeavour aimed at addressing climate change, fostering economic development, and contributing to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and it aligns seamlessly with Malawi's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). The project spans over 30 years, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to long-term, lasting change


      Role description:

      The PM will be responsible for ensuring all operations, relevant reporting and budgetary requirements meet a high sustainable standard, while leading a team to ensure best practice procedures are always maintained across all aspects of the business; Will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and management of the project, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
      Will lead on the design and implementation phases, providing technical advisory on planning, implementing, and budgeting that are appropriate to management; Will establish local partnership with local NGOs, farmer cooperatives and other (non-governmental) stakeholders, and work closely with relevant actors in the agroforestry value chain.
      Will also coordinate activities with other Mota-Engil group companies to maximise efficiencies; and will ensure all work practices and processes are consistent and in line with Mota-Engil sustainability and SHEQ guidelines

      Experience and qualifications:

      ➢ Master’s degree in environmental science, engineering, management, or a related field.
      ➢ 5-10 years of professional experience in intensive in forestry and agroforestry operations.
      ➢ Proven track record in managing large-scale projects, overseeing complex projects, and leading
      multidisciplinary teams. is essential.
      ➢ Experience in coordinating with various stakeholders, including NGOs, government agencies, and local
      communities, is vital.
      ➢ Driving license (cat. B).
      ➢ Fluent in English language.
      ➢ Excellent management and organisational skills, overseeing day to day operation.
      ➢ Outstanding leadership and people management skills.
