- Manage the execution of multiple concurrent projects
- Manage the financial and operational resources necessary to meet contractual obligations of the project to ensure profitability
- Develop and execute the project management plan for low-medium complexity projects
- Potentially manage a deliverable for a large project
- Provide day-to-day leadership for team members
- Participate in proposal writing for project management aspects
- Direct multiple projects, simultaneously involving a variety of resourcing, scheduling, subcontracting and other project management activities
- Develop procedures and guidelines for executing project management activities
- Participate in the negotiation of subcontract terms and work share agreements
- Resolve project work/schedule issues by reprioritizing activities
- Act as primary liaison with customer on project matters including negotiations and securing customer acceptance
- Support technical, cost and schedule aspects of proposals
- Implement project work breakdown structure
- Coordinate technical activities of project
- Make recommendations regarding recruiting and other human resources activities (e.g., performance reviews)
- Develop opportunities for contract amendments to extend project scope, solve scope/financial issues, or improve financial returns by reducing costs
- Bachelor degree in engineering, project management, commerce or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of related project management experience, or 3 years of project management and 8 years of engineering experience
- Fluency in English
- Able to travel occasionally within Canada
- Be able to hold a Canadian Security Clearance (Level II - SECRET) and Controlled Good Clearance
- Eligible to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or with a valid Work Permit
- PMP certification or equivalent accreditation
- Experience in defence and public safety
- Project Experience with Lean/Agile methodology
- Domain knowledge of the Canadian Armed Forces
- French fluency would be an asset
- This position is focused on work occurring in the National Capital Region, preference for someone who resides in the region.
- This is a hybrid position.
Role and Responsibilities
Project Manager (PM) for Mission Systems and Engineering Services Team
Within CAE Defense & Security International, the Mission Systems and Engineering Services Team delivers projects for all branches of the Canadian Armed Forces including design, build, and in-service support of Operational and Training Systems. Our team has a long history of work in Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems and as well as maintenance of software for training simulators for the RCAF.
