- Manage the end-to-end timeline for select new store expansions; lead multiple, highly visible complex projects from scoping through delivery.
- Drive key initiatives in partnership with senior leaders, helping to create processes to deliver the best solution in the most cost effective manner.
- Proactively anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, risk mitigation, and communicate trade-offs across many cross functional teams.
- Establish and maintain all aspects of project documentation, making it easy for teams to evaluate and understand our overall plans, progress, and processes.
- Identify and mitigate risks and maintain issue logs, and conduct retrospectives upon project completion to continually improve all new store opening processes.
- Evaluate existing cross-functional business processes and identify improvements, ensuring the right partner teams are represented, and partner with senior leaders to drive these improvements.
- Serve as onsite point person for select new store openings during operational turnover.
- 2-5 years of project management or business operations experience
- Track record of driving and delivering results across cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills; ability to facilitate discussions to drive alignment with stakeholders of varying levels
- Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and problem solving skills.
- Prioritize and make decisions with speed and simplicity.
- You have a startup mentality: scrappy self-starter, resourceful, comfortable with ambiguity, and constantly iterating to be best-in-class.
- Travel: ability to travel 5-10% of the time, and ramping during the build-up phase of a store opening.
Senior Associate, Physical Retail Project Management

Based in Boston, MA (Mon-Thurs in office, Friday WFH); Requires some light travel (~1-2x/quarter).

Wayfair’s Physical Retail team is seeking a Senior Associate of Project Management to support our significant retail efforts. This role will report into the head of the Physical Retail Project Management Office–the team that oversees project management for all Physical Retail (all stores for all brands–AllModern, Birch Lane, Joss & Main, and Wayfair). This team plays a significant role in driving critical initiatives across the retail organization–spanning everything from new store openings to process improvements and cross-functional initiatives for existing stores.
In this role, you will plan and execute large, complex, cross-functional projects within the Retail organization. You’ll manage multiple projects on time and within budget, while using critical thinking to improve the overall program. You’ll work with business partners, technical teams, store teams, and vendors during the full project lifecycle, coordinating efforts across the teams, surfacing risks, pushing on key decisions, and more. You will partner with stakeholders to organize and execute their roadmaps, projects, or communication plans by leveraging project management tools, processes, and best practices.
