      Job Duties:

      Plan, direct, or coordinate, usually through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.

      Guide project team engineers and other team members, preparing work scopes, issuing contracts, and assisting with matters related to budget and scheduling for new construction projects. Support project teams both in the office and field, and in a more independent model, supporting model-based project management, process workflows, and construction technology deployment for business units. Assist the superintendent and project manager in the implementation of policies and the execution of the project and participation and application of internal Environmental Health and Safety Plan to constantly maintain injury-free environments including performing weekly safety audits. Provide guidance to other project engineer team members, serving as point-person to other engineers, field office coordinator, project accountant and other assigned project staff. Provide direction, prioritization, mentorship and feedback. Enforce contracts and identify, assemble, negotiate, and distribute change orders to both the owner and subcontractors. Prepare, monitor, and update project schedules. Prepare, maintain, and implement various document control entities such as daily reports, material procurement logs, submittal logs, as-builts, testing and inspection logs, RFI logs, and change order logs. Lead distribution of new drawings, changes, approved submittals, RFI responses, and other project information to all affected parties. Organize and electronically archive project files for easy access by the project team. Conduct project close out and hand over of all the information to owners about the project. This includes updating submitting closed snag list, project closeout walk, final as-built drawings, test reports, 3D models with product data information. Prepare owner billing by assembling DPR costs, receiving and reviewing subcontractor invoices and organizing the documents in accordance with the owner’s requirements. Participate in project cost control. This includes maintaining internal records and working with subcontractors to make sure changes are getting paid. Participate in trainings and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth.

      Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites within commuting distance of DPR’s Dallas, Texas office.

      Minimum education/experience requirements: Master’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a construction/engineering-related occupation.       Skill Requirements:

      Position requires at least 4 years of experience in each of the following skills:

      • Perform preconstruction tasks with the subcontractors like preparing a Work Plan, QA/QC, Document Control Process and Safety Orientations so that all the subcontractors are familiar with the project and the process before starting any work as well as ensuring quality and safety is maintained throughout the project life cycle.
      • Manage various types of scopes including but not limited to Utilities, Traffic Control, integrating technical HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical systems on railway stations, Roadway Signage, installation of railroad track and embankments including special track work and road crossing, Earthwork and Landscaping.
      • Complete Cost Data Analysis using historical data and industry averages to determine benchmarks for estimating costs. Analyze costs submitted from various subcontractors and compare against the documented industry rates or from historical data.
      • Accurately document daily reports, RFIs, submittals, drawings, specifications, invoices, safety plans, work plans, operation manuals, warranties, guarantees and progress photos & videos. Ensure all the documents are submitted on time and organized systematically using software like BIM 360, CMiC and OneDrive.
      • Use tools like Bluebeam, AutoCAD and Google Earth for efficient documentation to maintain a clear project record along with using tools like Primavera P6, MS Project and Microsoft Excel for facilitating cost and time savings while updating and reviewing documents weekly.
      • Send Request for Proposals to subcontractors and for defined scope of work in order to write complete contracts according to construction project specifications.
      • Use multiple types of project delivery methods like Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) and Design Build.
      • Determine quantities of material and work items, including estimating earthwork, Traffic Control Signage, Drainage Utility Work, Concrete, MEP systems and building finishes using Microsoft Excel & Bluebeam Takeoff Techniques, in order to ensure accurate budget/costs, deliverables, and/or scope of work for construction projects.
