Your Role
The scope of this role is across all semi dry pump product groups, engaged in applications ranging from load lock to full processing.
The Project lead will coordinate and manage the day to day activities of a multidisciplinary team of up to ~10 heads depending on project scope with individuals retaining direct reporting line to functional managers (Technical, Manufacturing, Supply Management). The governance and scheduling of the project is the responsibility of the Project lead – reporting directly to the Regional Technical Manager.
A typical project will last between 6 months and 1 year and have an overall project cost of $1 to 2m, achieving revenue in the first 5 years of around $50 to 100M
The Project lead will also be responsible for controlling project costs including discretionary spend ~$0.3m for a large project over 1 to 2 years.

Implement the company NPI procedure (PCP) within Dry Pump teams, ensuring adherence to the procedures on design and modification, peer reviews, design and safety reviews, creation of key documents, etc. and also encourage continuous improvement of the procedures themselves.Together with functional managers to participate in PPDR process for project team members to set objectives and evaluate performance against project deliverables.
When required, to provide expert resource or undertake special projects to meet the requirements of the Company’s quality objectives and general policies.
To succeed, you will needEducation:
• Bachelor degree in engineering or science. Master is a plus.
• +5 years involvement in the process of new product development in a high technology environment (ideally vacuum related).Relevant previous experience:
• Experience and understanding of the advanced manufacturing methods used producing the sector products.
• Experience and understanding of the full Product Commercialisation Procedure (PCP) from concept selection to factory implementation
• A proven ability to manage projects - delivering products on time, on quality to specification and on budget.Skills:
• A proven ability to generate and execute detailed project plans – including – resource planning, cost tracking and control, and schedule adherence whilst maintaining the flexibility required to react to rapidly changing market drivers
• Management expertise: able to build a cohesive team, to provide leadership and direction, and to foster good communications within and between project teams.
• Influencing, communication, presentation and negotiating skills at the highest levels, both internally and externally. Able to achieve credibility and command respect. Influencing across functional boundaries is a key element of this role.Core Competencies:
