Working within our Water Network Operations & Leakage department, we have a really exciting opportunity to join the team as a Project Manager (WMU)!
The role of the Project Manager (WMU) is to lead the definition and implementation of projects and continuous improvement activities that support Severn Trent’s strategic ambitions and deliver for our customers.
You’ll work on driving business change, with direct accountability for meticulous project planning and transparent reporting activities. Fostering strong relationships with business teams to cultivate a culture of best practice that is developed collaboratively, shared generously, implemented effectively, and documented meticulously.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
You’ll be part of a team that will stretch you, grow your Project Management skills and connect us with communities across the UK.
Your key accountabilities in helping us will be:
• Be directly responsible / accountable for delivery of assigned projects and work-streams through the pre-defined project life cycle in line with Delivery Management Office standards, ensuring key activities are planned and lessons learned captured.
• Build a compelling case for change identifying options for delivery, underpinned by robust assumptions which are tested throughout the project lifecycle.
• Actively engage with the Project Sponsor and effectively manage other stakeholders across the business during the course of a project, communicating effectively on project deliverables to ensure they are well received by the recipients of the change and that the project is successfully delivered, sustainable and benefits realised.
• Advise Project Boards, own and resolve issues and recommend corrective action as appropriate so that projects are sustained and implemented, working within the agreed decision-making process/project governance arrangements - reporting progress, risks and issues to programme leadership and senior stakeholders to the defined standard.
Qualifications:
• GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
• Driving Licence and/or the ability to get to various sites across the ST region during non-standard hours.
• Recognised qualification in Business Change or Project Management, or relevant experience.
• Confident IT user; all Microsoft Office tools, Sharepoint and other relevant packages.
