      Role title: Project Officer
      Business unit/Organisation: Respect at Work Taskforce, Capability and Engagement Directorate, SafeWork NSW
      Grade: Clerk Grade 7/8
      Term: Temporary role 3 days per week– up to September 2027
      Start date: July 2025
      Location: Parramatta/Gosford/Sydney. Note regular travel across NSW is required for this role.

      Key responsibilities of this position

      • Deliver workshops on the prevention of workplace sexual harassment and gender-based violence, specifically targeting business owners, work health and safety representatives (HSRs), and senior workplace leaders who can implement changes in their workplaces.
      • Educate stakeholders on the link between workplace sexual harassment, gender-based violence, and overall workplace health and safety.
      • Provide expert guidance and practical strategies to senior leaders on creating safer, more inclusive workplace environments.
      • Collaborate with Respect at Work Taskforce members and other SafeWork NSW teams to refine training materials and ensure they reflect the latest best practices and legislative developments in sexual harassment prevention and response.
      • Assess the effectiveness of workshops and adjust content delivery based on participant feedback and learning outcomes.
      • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring ongoing engagement and commitment to the project’s goals

      About You

      We are seeking an experienced, passionate individual with a strong commitment to creating safe workplaces free from sexual harassment and gender-based violence. The ideal candidate will have:

      • Extensive experience in delivering presentations or workshops, ideally to senior leaders or people who can influence workplace safety culture.
      • Experience or a strong willingness to learn about gender-based violence, workplace sexual harassment, and the broader implications of sexual violence within the workplace. A demonstrated understanding of why violence against women is a critical issue will be key to success in this role.
      • A clear understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and how workplace sexual harassment fits within these frameworks.
      • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
      • A passion for equity, diversity, and women's safety, with the drive to make tangible changes in workplace culture.
      • Experience in delivering face-to-face training sessions, ensuring that sensitive topics are communicated thoughtfully while considering participant safety and well-being. This includes providing an environment where all participants feel respected and supported.

      Key challenges

      • Delivering content on sensitive and complex topics while ensuring the safety and emotional well-being of participants, including creating a supportive learning environment.
      • Ensuring all content aligns with current best practices and legislative requirements while adapting to the unique needs of each workshop group.
      • Navigating the fast-paced nature of this work, which may involve changes or updates to policies, regulations, or priorities.
