      Job Description:

      The Project Planner / Planning Engineer is responsible for development phase project planning activities in the Onshore Power team in Europe. This person will focus on supporting the successful development and delivery of solar PV, onshore wind and storage projects in Europe.

      What’s the role?

      • Use MS Project, Primavera and/or other equivalent software to prepare project development & construction programmes/schedules.
      • Perform critical path analysis and identify/track project schedule risks and opportunities to optimise.
      • Support project teams to monitor project progress and maintain up to date project programmes/schedules.
      • Support portfolio level tracking and optimisation of project schedules and capex spend.
      • Liaise with project development, delivery and C&P/supply chain teams to identify and align on key internal and external project deadlines and expected timelines for development, construction, internal processes, equipment procurement, etc.
      • Lead the development of project planning and schedule optimisation tools, templates and internal processes.
      • Manage internal project interfaces with development, engineering, delivery and asset management teams.
      • Support troubleshooting and resolution of applicable project schedule related issues during project development and delivery.

      What we need from you?

      We are keen to hear from individuals with substantial hands-on experience of planning/scheduling in the development and delivery phases of infrastructure projects, preferably in the renewable power sector. You’ll also call on your bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent. Additional project management and/or project planning related qualifications/training is a plus.

      We also hope you possess the following skills and experience:

      • In-depth knowledge of MS Project, Primavera and equivalent planning tools.
      • Experience in creating and maintaining project programmes/schedules for infrastructure projects, preferably in the renewable power sector.
      • Experience with interfacing planning tools with other software for automation of data collection and analysis (i.e. Excel, PowerBI).
      • Familiarity with EPC contracts and activities related to the construction of infrastructure projects.
      • Familiarity of permitting, grid connection and other development activities for infrastructure projects is a plus.
      • Good understanding of project economics, value chain and project development.

      Required Skills/Competencies:

      • Commercial acumen, to help increase project returns and reduce engineering-related costs.
      • Ability to understand the strategic context of work and adapt to changing business and market needs.
      • Flexible, pragmatic and open to discuss alternative solutions.
      • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time and being able to work efficiently and productively in remote locations.
      • Culturally sensitive and ability to build strong relationships with Shell, partners and stakeholders.
      • Ability to build strong relationships with Shell, partners and stakeholders.
      • Strong communication skills, being able to present their idea within technical and non-technical audience.
      • Practical. Focus on solving problems and not just asking more questions.
      • Fluent in English. Ability to speak other languages is a plus (i.e. Spanish, Italian, German).
