      UCSF Center for Child and Community Health (CCCH) is seeking a highly motivated community engagement and assistant project manager. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the organizational mission of reducing ACEs and toxic stress in half by one generation, well-versed in community health and health equity, experienced with stakeholder and community engagement and bring strong project management and communication skills.

      The Project Coordinator will support a portfolio of projects, programs and studies including The UCLA-UCSF ACEs Aware Family Resilience Network (UCAAN) and UC Agricultural and Natural Resources (UCANR). Based in the Department of Pediatrics and UCSF, the mission of UCAAN is to reduce Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and toxic stress by half in one generation, and the mission of UCANR is to connect the power of UC research in agriculture, natural resources, nutrition and youth development with local communities to improve the lives of all Californians.

      The position will report to the Co-Director of the UCSF Center for Chlid and Community Health (CCCH). Duties include acquiring skills to support the program director in analytical studies, developing, managing and maintaining project plans, ensuring timely and effective reporting, planning meetings and synthesis of meeting themes, gathering data and information from surveys and literature reviews, and making sound recommendations for implementing effective strategies and plans for community engagement.

      The individual will be expected to work independently at times and collaborate with a cross-functional team. The position requires creativity and flexibility as well as a growth mindset and community orientation.

      The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

      Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

      The salary range for this position is $50,700 - $63,900 (Annual Rate).

      Department Description

      The UCLA-UCSF ACEs Aware Family Resilience Network (UCAAN) UCAAN is based at UCSF and UCLA. In October 2021, the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) contracted with the UCLA/UCSF ACEs Aware Family Resilience Network (UCAAN) to implement the ACEs Aware initiative, with oversight provided by DHCS and the Office of the California Surgeon General (CA-OSG).
      UCAAN is a multi-campus initiative that leverages the substantial interdisciplinary resources of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) campuses. UCAAN is housed in the Department of Pediatrics at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.

      The UC Agricultural and Natural Resources (UCANR) collaboration with the UCSF Center for Child and Community Health (CCCH). Whether improving Californian’s maternal well-being and early child development, child and adolescent mental health and well-being, COVID-19 health outcomes, or childhood obesity, it is vital that efforts are grounded in data, evidence-based or evidence-informed practices, community partnerships, and health equity. UCANR connects the power of UC research with local communities to improve the lives of all Californians. UCSF is part of the 10-campus University of California, and the only of its campuses dedicated to graduate and professional education specifically through a singular focus on health. Leveraging the strengths and expertise of UCANR and UCSF provides a potent and unique opportunity to bring these vital elements together with the goal of improving health in communities across California.

      This particular position is at the UCSF Department of Pediatrics due to two of the UCAAN advisers, Dr. Anda Kuo and Dr. Dayna Long being based there. The UCSF Department of Pediatrics is committed to excellence in research, education and the clinical care of infants, children and young adults. Faculty have earned national and international recognition for their accomplishments and receive millions of dollars annually in extramural research funding to advance care for kids. The committed clinical care provided by our physicians is enhanced through process improvement initiatives and contributions to community health, including, but not limited to, increasing access to community resources, immigrant and refugee care, lifestyle intervention for obese adolescents, expansion of quality language services, universal screening for smoking cessation, and improving behavioral health support for our diverse communities. Faculty provide primary health care for the infants, children and adolescents.

      Required Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
      • Skills to learn organization-specific and other computer application programs
      • Basic communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
      • Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality
      • Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns
      • Basic skills to analyze and research information and learn to synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail
      • Basic program and project management skills
      • Strong community and stakeholder engagement skills

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Master’s degree
      • Experience with academic-community partnerships
