  We are seeking a Project Schedule Analyst (PSA) to support the Surface Biology and Geology (SBG) project within the Earth Science and Technology Directorate (ESTD). This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the business planning and implementation of a flight mission entering its Critical Design Review (CDR) stage. The SBG mission involves developing a thermal infrared (TIR) free-flyer concept that is part of NASA's Surface Biology & Geology (SBG) and the broader NASA Earth System Observatory (ESO).

  Responsibilities include:

  • Build, maintain, analyze, and report on the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), schedule concerns, metrics, and products.
  • Assess and validate schedule/cost baseline integrity for accuracy and feasibility.
  • Identify and communicate schedule anomalies, analyze logic and critical path traceability.
  • Collaborate with the Project Resource Analyst team to implement and verify cost and schedule integration plans.
  • Maintain detailed network schedules in Microsoft Project Server, including data analysis for reporting.
  • Support change control meetings and incorporate approved changes into the baseline or estimate at complete (EAC).
  • Generate high-level schedule reports for engineering partners and conduct 'what-if' scenario analyses.
  • Manage Earned Value (EV) data and support schedule risk assessments.
  • Work with Lead Scheduler to integrate schedule impact artifacts and present analysis findings.
  • Handle critical ad-hoc assignments with minimal supervision.

  Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 6 years of related experience, or Master's with 4 years, or PhD with 2 years.
  • Knowledge of project planning, control principles, including cost estimation, scheduling, and performance measurement techniques like earned value.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to interface with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Milestones Pro and Health Check software.

  Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with project reporting, integrated cost/schedule planning, EVM, and performance measurement techniques.
  • Knowledge of change control processes and experience with IPMR/IPMDAR documentation.
