SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary: $21.89 - $28.05/hour commensurate with experience and qualifications. Genesee Intermediate Educational Support Personnel Association (GIESPA).

Employees are entitled to sick time, vacation time, bereavement days, holidays, and longevity pay. Additionally, retirement savings plans are provided through the State of Michigan Office of Retirement Services (ORS). These benefits are available after just one full day of employment.

ROLE AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The Project Specialist I – Special Education Services provides countywide coordination and support for student data systems and special education operations. This position is the primary contact for the GISD Special Education Services student information database and
oversees all special education pupil count activities. The role also supports data reporting, compliance monitoring, professional development coordination, and collaborative efforts with constituent districts and state agencies.
Essential Duties (May include, but not limited to):
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Associate’s degree in business, office administration, finance, statistics, or related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Documentation/demonstrated work experience may be considered as part of the Associate’s degree requirement.
Experience:
Minimum of five years’ experience in a business setting or educational environment required. At least three (3) years of experience in data systems, database management, or technical support. Experience with Synergy, EdPlan, NexSys, and MSDS preferred.
Skills/Other:
Able to pass proficiency testing at the advanced skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access, business math, spelling, and typing (45 wpm) required. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. Works to maintain proficiency, as required skill sets change with technology and/or the needs of the district. Ability to solve complex problems, manage multiple tasks, demonstrate effective time management skills, meet deadlines, and produce accurate work. Able to relate effectively with others through verbal and written communication, strong teamwork, interpersonal communication, and problem-solving skills. Punctuality and good attendance are requirements for the position. Ability to work a flexible workday, work week, and work year. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times. Demonstrated mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the essential duties of the position. Discretion with confidential information. Ability to maintain a calm, poised, and professional image at all times. Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and accountability. Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions in accordance with board policies and established administrative guidelines.
