      In this role, you'll:
      Join Transport for NSW Infrastructure Place and Engineering, in our Regional and Active Transport Projects delivery team in this entry level/junior Engineering role.
      Contribute to the development, implementation, and management of civil engineering-related projects.
      Join a supportive and collaborative team where you will grow your knowledge and experience as an Engineer working on major road and infrastructure projects across the Hunter, Newcastle & Central Coast Region.

      This is a permanent opportunity, so you'll work across many different projects within this Project Support Engineer role at Transport for NSW. Some examples of our current and recently completed projects are:

      • Pacific Highway upgrade through Wyong Town Centre; providing two lanes in each direction and replacing the Wyong River Road bridge and Rose St Road bridge over rail, as well as providing commuter car park and improved facilities for pedestrians and cyclists.
      • Pacific highway upgrade at Lisarow; increasing to two lanes in each direction and complex bridge structure demolition and construction works.
      • Newcastle Inner City Bypass, from Rankin Park to Jesmond, delivery of 3.4-kilometre road including 5 bridges, 3 interchanges and interfaces with the John Hunter Hospital's State Significant Development.
      • Hexham Straight Widening 6km road widening and reconstruction including bridge works.
      • Singleton Bypass 8km road construction with major earthworks and significant bridges.


      With many more significant projects in the pipeline ready for you to get involved in and improve the community you live in.

      We have two positions available with home office locations of Newcastle and Tuggerah.

      About you
      You have either recently graduated your Civil and or Structural Engineering Degree and been engaged as An undergraduate engineer on road infrastructure projects, or recently completed a graduate program within a roads and infrastructure role, or you have up to three years’ work experience as a civil or structural engineer working on roads infrastructure.
      You're excited to work across a portfolio of work covering the Newcastle, Central Coast & the Hunter region, creating safer and more efficient traffic flows for regional residents and commuters.
      You’re interested in being a part of state changing road projects supporting the needs of our region.
      You like variety and are willing to travel within the region to support projects as needed.
      You have completed a four -year engineering (Civil / Structural or related) degree from an Australian University or equivalent overseas qualifications.
      You possess a current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver license.
