Want to join us? We have an exciting opportunity for a Property Maintenance Engineer to join our team covering Glasgow and the surrounding areas.
You'll be the go-to person for keeping our assets in great shape in the West area of Scotland, which includes offices, depots, operational sites, and even labs if they're in the mix.
What you’ll do
You’ll make sure everything stays up to standard! That means taking care of asset management and providing top-notch technical services for our offices, depots, labs, and operational sites. We want these places running like a well-oiled machine, and you'll be the one making it happen, whether it's planned maintenance or jumping in for those surprise fixes.
You will Team up with our workplace and planning teams, plus our water and wastewater teams, to keep an eye on any hiccups that could affect our customers. You will check out what needs fixing and provide estimates on what it'll cost.
You will also keep tabs on scheduled maintenance and make sure it's all going as planned and you will keep an eye on the contractors, we bring in to help, making sure they're on track and staying on budget.
Lastly you will make sure everything we do lines up with our Procurement procedures and our health and safety policy.
What you’ll need:
An HNC in building or E&M discipline, or experience in Property Management (bonus if it is in the water industry). You will have a safety-first mindset and a good understanding of health and safety rules.You will know your way around CDM principles, and you will be familiar with CAFM databases, additionally you will be able to prioritise your workload which may include urgent work at times.
You will have good negotiation and presentation skills and managing contractors is second nature to you. You're a pro at analysing and solving tricky problems, plus, you're a tech whiz when it comes to Excel, Word, and handling data. Money matters don't scare you and you are comfortable managing budgets.
You will work full time hours of 37 hours per week Monday to Friday, based at the agreed West location. The nature of the role will require travel to other locations across the appointed geographical area and other parts of Scotland on occasion so a full UK driving licence is required.
We'll also ask you to be part of our property standby team and get trained up as a fire warden.

The not-so-small print
The salary range for this role is £31,380 - £43,350 depending on skills and experience.
