Fabricates prosthetic devices following established work instructions and quality standards
Responsible to perform tasks such as pour negatives, plaster modifications, pull plastic, roll silicone and trimline finishing.
The technician must be good at operating machinery such as power tools and need a high level of hand-eye coordination.
Education of customers attending onsite clinical academy trainings.
Troubleshoot of i-limb devices when necessary.
Tests prostheses for freedom of movement, sealed valves, alignment of parts, and biomechanical stability, using plumb line and alignment fixtures.
Maintains and requests adequate supplies of fabrication materials and components.
Maintains and cleans the production area
Other duties as assigned.
Graduate of high school or GED
1 – 3 years as an Orthotics and/or Prosthetics Technician, or equivalent experience.
Self-motivated and dependable with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well as a team member
Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks in an efficient manner.
The Prosthetics Technician will focus their time fabricating in-house and central fabrication upper limb externally powered prostheses. This role will require good attention to detail as well as excellent communication skills. It is also important for the technician to have strong time management skills to manage multiple projects at the same time.
