Summary

The Prototype Machinist will be responsible for manufacturing prototype parts, fixtures, and gages, as well as saleable product.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Program, set-up, and operate a variety of machine tools including CNC lathes, CNC mills, Wire EDM, and various manual (mill, lathe, surface grinder) equipment.
• Identify materials and tooling required to produce prototype parts, tooling, fixtures, gages, etc.
• Follow all documented processes.
• Work closely with engineering to design and develop fixtures, gauges etc.

Required Experience

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the complex manufacturing documents and manufacture parts/fixtures start to finish.
• Working knowledge of GD&T.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment.
• Minimum 4 years of programming experience with lathes, mills, and/or wire EDM.
• MasterCAM proficiency.
• Strong attention to detail.

• Swiss Turn Lathe CNC experience/programming is a plus
• 5-axis milling experience/programming is a plus
• Read, analyze and interpret complex manufacturing documents
