      Job Summary

      The Provider Recruiter has primary accountability for full-cycle recruitment of physicians and advanced practitioner candidates.

      • Develops and implements sourcing strategies for attracting newly trained and passive talent in a competitive health care market.
      • Identifies and sources providers that will gain a sustainable competitive advantage on behalf of the organization.
      • Plays a key role in building successful relationships with internal and external prospects/candidates.
      • Has highly effective communication skills, ability to multi-task and attention to detail.


      The Provider Recruiter will ensure an effective and quality pipeline of providers are available and well developed to sustain and build the clinics of Novant Health Medical Group. This position serves as the primary point of contact for and maintains excellent working relationships with clinic administrators, physician leaders, institute leaders and physician executives. This individual will deliver high quality service to both internal and external customers. The recruiter holds meetings with Institute Leaders on a frequent basis. The recruiter also serves as a consultant in compensation, contract models and strategic workforce planning. The recruiter is responsible for reporting and performing special projects at the request of Central Operations leadership, Institute leadership and/or Provider Recruitment leadership.


      Engages in critical business discussions to address and understand talent gaps. Requires building strong collaborative working relationships with executive leadership, provider compensation, legal, benefits, strategic business partners, organizational and functional leaders across the Novant Health footprint. Communicates in a proactive, effective and timely manner with stakeholders across the system. The Provider Recruiter handles confidential and time-sensitive communications.


      The Provider Recruiter is also responsible for aiding and initiating the process of hospital and payor credentialing, pre-hire and onboarding processes. The ability to understand timelines and deliverables from these functions is critical to ensuring that the process and communication between the teams, hiring managers, and the provider is seamless. Is skilled at utilizing recruitment platforms for sourcing candidates and is well versed with applicant tracking systems.

      Qualifications

      • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required.
        • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree
      • Experience:
        • Minimum three years of experience in healthcare, corporate or executive recruiting; required.
        • Two years of Physician or healthcare related recruitment experience, preferred.
      • Licensure/Certification: Participation in a recruitment professional organization preferred (e.g. Association for Advancing Physician and Provider Recruitment (AAPPR), or Fellow, Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (FASPR)), preferred.
      • Additional Skills Required:
        • Outstanding verbal and written skills required.
        • Ability to build strategic recruitment plans and sourcing strategy plans, clarify required job skills and competencies with leadership.
        • Demonstrated experience reviewing resumes against job requirements, interviewing candidates against qualifications and presenting recommendations to leadership.
        • Proven success having sourced candidates using networking, social media, events, competitive intelligence/research, sourcing tools and other programs.
        • Customer service skills to include strong public relations ability for representation of NHMG at career events, networking with outreach training programs, and networking with internal and external healthcare colleagues.
        • May work with corporate legal staff and corresponding teams on all activities involving immigration.
        • Maintains ties with residency/fellowship programs.
        • Attends local and national recruitment conferences.
      • Additional Skills Preferred:
        • Experience consulting with executives and leadership on compensation/offers, market trends, sourcing challenges, candidate interviewing, and recruiting process expectations, accountabilities and service level preferred.
        • Previous experience using CRM and ATS preferred.
        • Experience recruiting for other highly skilled positions with limited talent pool, i.e. similar to executive, provider, healthcare, IT, engineering, or other highly skilled positions.
