- M Level Study (Postgraduate) Route: Undergraduate degree in a relevant subject or equivalent, for example, a registered nurse or allied health professional OR H Level Study (Graduate) Certificate Route: If you do not have a degree you may study at H level and you will require at least 2 advanced level GCEs or equivalent, such as a BTEC, (GNVQ or NVQ at levels 3 or 4)
- For those applicants whose first language is not English, or for those whose first degree was not taught in English, the minimum requirements for TOEFL/IELTS are: 100 for internet-based TOEFL with no less than 23 in any band, 600 for paper-based TOEFL (TWE4) or 7.0 for IELTS with no less than 6.5 in any band

Job summary
We are offering an exciting Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (TPWP) opportunity, starting Autumn 2025 with NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire Talking Therapies. Our current localities cover Worcester, Wyre Forest, Malvern Evesham Pershore & Redditch & Bromsgrove.
All successful applicants will be enrolled on to the Trainee PWP programme with the University of Birmingham.On successful competition of the course, you will gain the post graduate certificate in lower intensity psychological interventions, and you will be able to practice as a PWP within the trust on a permanent basis.
Following this you will be required to apply for entry to the PWP registration of the of the British Psychological Society (BPS) or The British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
If you are shortlisted, you will need to apply to the University of Birmingham via an application and attend an interview for an academic test (10, 11or 12June 2025)
If you are successful, you will then be shortlisted for an interview with our service this will be a face to face interview (08, 09, 10or 11July 2025). You must be available to attend all parts of the interview dates stated for the university and service.

Main duties of the job
Contracted hours for this role are full-time and requirements are 37.5 hours per week with a blended delivery of working in the office and University study days, there may be some requirement to also work from home.
Trainee PWPs will be supported to learn and develop their skills around screening patients suitability for the service and treating patients using step 2 interventions based on the principles of CBT for mild to moderate depression and anxiety disorders. Intervention will be delivered via a combination of telephone, digital, psychoeducational courses and one-to-one.
Trainee PWPs will work closely with a Senior PWP who will offer regular one to one and group supervision and support you to meet the requirements of the programme.
Further training and support is offered by the University of Birmingham programme tutors. This will be delivered via a combination of lectures, skills workshops and online and on-campus learning to develop clinical skills and meet requirements for University Assignments.
Your focus will be on providing excellent patient care and treatment supported of cutting-edge Low Intensity Psychological Interventions within primary care mental health. You will support the delivery of training, education and close partnership working, maintaining effective communications with both internal and external partners
