    • Schedule and conduct comprehensive evaluations

    • Develop and compose Eligibility reports students assessed by the RCSD

    • Schedule and conduct meetings to obtain permission to test from parents for Special Education (initial and reevaluation)

    • Schedule and conduct reevaluation meetings for out of state transfer students and three-year reevaluations

    • Schedule and conduct eligibility meetings for students who meet the criteria to receive Special Education services

    • Participate in MET team meetings as necessary

    • Review and explain the results of psycho-educational testing with parents and school staff

    • Receive and review available developmental information from school and outside resources about student behavior(s) in order to select appropriate psychological assessments

    • Provide staff development and training on the evaluation process for new referrals, current student in special education, and students who transfer into the district with a special education ruling

    • Ensure school has appropriate paperwork for initial evaluation and reevaluation and follow up on items not submitted by the school.

    • Assist in preschool evaluations as needed.

    • Provide date/time to school to schedule MET meetings.

    • Schedule and conduct meetings for 504 requests.

    • Schedule and conduct meetings for dyslexia services requests.

    • Manage and monitor all contractual psychometrists: contracts, invoices, etc.

    • Maintain testing materials and supplies.

    • Coordinate Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs): schedule coordinate assessments with contractual psychometrists, communicate with parents as they go through independent evaluation process.

    • Develop forms necessary for data collection for evaluations and MET meetings.

    • Develop district procedures for testing as needed.

    • Conduct all meetings and evaluations with outside agencies and facilities within the Rankin County School District, (JDC, Brentwood, Mississippi State Hospital).

    • Lead and attend staff meetings/trainings as applicable; serve on staff committees

    • Assume responsibility for own professional growth and development, for keeping current with literature, new research findings, for attending appropriate professional meetings and conferences, and to maintain any credits and/or continued education for maintenance of licensure/qualifications required for the position

    • Maintain and accept responsibility for any district owned fixed asset item assigned to employee and ensure appropriate use by following district policies for acceptable use

    • Undergo periodic evaluations according to state and board policy procedures

    • Maintain confidentiality

    • Regular, dependable, in person, and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position

    • Perform such other and not specifically enumerated duties as may be requested by the Board of Education, superintendent, administrator, director or established by district policy

    • Read, understand, and abide by Employee Conduct Policy, GAB, all other district, state and federal policies, and procedures and protocols as established by RCSD and the Mississippi Educator Code of Conduct

    • Education Level: Minimum of Master’s degree is Psychometry

    • Certification: MS Educator license with special education endorsement

      Job purpose:

      In keeping a tradition of excellence, the purpose of the Psychometrist is to coordinate the referral to placement process for initial evaluations and reevaluations for Special Education students. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
