      About the job:
      - Consult with patients to learn about their physical condition and symptoms and review their medical history and referrals from doctors or surgeons
      - Diagnose movement dysfunction by listening to patients and observing them as they move about
      - Develop an individualized treatment plan
      - Coach patients and teach them therapeutic exercises and stretches to improve their condition
      - Use hands-on therapy such as massage to ease patients' pain and provide stimulation to promote healing
      - Maintain patient records by keeping track of goals and progress while adapting treatment plans accordingly
      - Advise patients and their families on in-home treatment options and what to expect from the recovery process

      Qualifications:
      Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree
      State licensure as a Physical Therapist
      Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
      Additional certification in specialized areas, such as Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) or Geriatric Certified Specialist (GCS) (preferred)

      General Purpose:
      A Physical Therapist (PT) assesses, diagnoses, and treats movement dysfunction and physical injuries to help patients restore mobility, reduce pain, and improve physical function. PTs create personalized exercise and rehabilitation plans, educate patients on preventive care, and work collaboratively with other healthcare providers to optimize treatment outcomes. Common settings for PTs include hospitals, outpatient clinics, sports facilities, and nursing homes. Their work is vital in improving patients' independence, mobility, and quality of life through evidence-based interventions and therapies.
