What do our Non-Emergency Ambulance Care Assistants say about their role?
"Every journey is different, but the best ones are where I come away feeling like I have really helped the patient. We provide such an important service for those patients with medical conditions which mean they can't get to their appointments any other way and being thanked for getting them there makes me feel like I'm doing something really worthwhile." (ACA based at Wakefield)
"I enjoy using my skills to adapt my style of communication to individual patient needs. Sometimes I need to give a clearer explanation of the manual handling task that we are about to complete - but I find it rewarding to be able to support patients with complex mobility needs to and from the hospital." (ACA based at Huddersfield)

About the company
National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
