Job summary
There is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic qualified registered nurse to join the Ashfield Healthy Family Teams.
You will work in community settings, Health Centres, Schools, Family Hubs, and client's homes to deliver the Universal Healthy Child Programme to the local 0-19 ages populations and Tier 1 (emotional health support ) targeted health services to the local 5-19 ages population.
Our teams work to an integrated 0-19 public health agenda. The team comprises Specialist Public Health Practitioners who lead the teams of Public Health Practitioners, Assistant Public Health Practitioners, Healthy Child Assistants and Screening Assistants in the delivery of a universal and targeted 0-19 Healthy Child and Public Health Nursing Programme. We work in partnership with local Family Hubs to promote health and you will contribute to tackling health inequalities within the level of competencies required for the post.
It is envisaged that the successful applicant will have the opportunity in the future to apply for the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse degree.
Main duties of the job
The Healthy Families Team deliver universal and targeted health services to the 0-19-year population in Ashfield. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day management of a defined workload, working within a skill mix team.
As part of the Healthy Families Team, you will be responsible for the delivery of public health, universal and targeted interventions including safeguarding across the 0-19 years age range in line with The Healthy Child Programme. This will be delegated to them by the Specialist Public Health Practitioner for the defined population. This will be delivered in line with the National and Local guidelines and public health priorities.
You will be responsible for supporting and clinically supervising the Assistant Public Health Practitioners, Healthy Child Assistants and Screening Assistants allocated to a defined geographical population to deliver and maintain high quality professional standards of practice.
The team work proactively using a partnership approach to promote health and contribute to tackling health inequalities within the level of competencies required for the post.
