  About the Role:

  We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual for a senior leadership position within our public health team. This exciting role focuses on providing leadership and oversight of the health protection function. Key highlights of this opportunity include:

  Key Responsibilities:

  Lambeth was significantly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, facing high infection rates, outbreaks in care settings, schools, and prisons, as well as a vaccine-hesitant population. In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with partners to build on the public health benefits and legacies of programmes aimed at tackling vaccine hesitancy and distrust in health services.
  • Address a broader portfolio of health protection responsibilities.

  The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Lead and manage programmes addressing a variety of health protection issues, using reactive, responsive, and preventative approaches.
  • Work independently, maintaining high levels of credibility, integrity, and accountability.
  • Develop and sustain strong working relationships both internally and with partner organisations.
  • Play a key role in shaping and assuring the quality of our health protection efforts and reducing inequalities.
  • Manage teams and individuals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality prevention, response, and reactive strategies to support systems.

  Location and Expectations:

  Lambeth Council is based in Brixton. We expect you to spend at least a couple of days a week in the borough to collaborate with colleagues and stay connected to the community.
