      Performs intermediate skilled administrative support work giving information to the general public in response to inquiries, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Processing Unit Supervisor or Administrative Officer.

      • Resolves minor complaints for clients or makes referrals to the appropriate staff member.
      • Answers the telephone and directs calls to the appropriate staff member.
      • Creates and maintains files, records, and reports, as required.
      • Conduct general business processes for the specific agency to which the position is assigned.
      • Performs assigned functions as a Disaster Ready Team (DRT) member.
      • Performs related tasks as required.
      General knowledge of agency procedures, methods, and practices; general knowledge of standard office practices methods and procedures, business English, spelling and arithmetic; ability to operate data, word processing and other standard office machines; some knowledge of departmental programs and policies; ability to make decision relating to assigned operations in conformance with applicable laws and policies; ability to interact with clients, patients, other employees and the public to gather, relay and explain information to establish and update records or to determine eligibility for services; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with County staff and the general public.High school diploma or GED and moderate experience as an office assistant or in customer service, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
