      Anticipated Hiring Salary: $60,000 - $65,000

      Grade: 22

      Job Summary:

      You are responsible for enhancing communication and public outreach on behalf of the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) and its Commissioners. You will seek out information to tell our story, developing public information campaigns for divisions and elected officials and preparing agency communication materials.

      Job Duties:

      You will write and distribute news releases, respond to media requests, and serve as the ACC spokesperson in what are often highly sensitive or complex cases. This position is also involved in enhancing our social media presence and providing dynamic content for the employee intranet and external website.

      Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

      - Professional experience performing public relations or related communications work, including writing and editing a variety of materials
      - Knowledge of media relations and government communications
      - Excellent public speaking skills
      - Knowledge of public information laws and practices at local, state, and federal levels
      - First-rate writing skills, with the ability to convey a consistent message in multiple formats (including press releases, social media, communications materials)
      - Ability to learn emerging communication and media technology to effectively disseminate information
      - Ability to establish positive relationships with elected officials, staff, media personnel, and the public
