Job Description
- Req#: R-2024-21
- Conduct physical screening of guests before allowing entry to the venue
- Conduct screening of bags and belongings in possession of guests before allowing entry
- Identify prohibited items and ensure the items are not brought into the venue
- Communicate with co-workers and/or police personnel in the event a dangerous item is located
- Prevent ingress or egress to or from an assigned door/entrance/exit
- Provide general information to guests
- Instruct guests/visitors regarding rules of conduct and prohibited items
- Respond to incidents in or around the venue as directed, including disruptive behavior, disputes, intoxicated guests, seating conflicts, etc.
- Monitor a position/location as directed to prevent disruptive and/or unlawful conduct
- Communicate to Control and/or co-workers or supervisors upon any observed misconduct or criminal behavior
- Conduct foot patrols identifying safety and security concerns and address concerns appropriately
- Monitor CCTV in security control rooms
- Perform communications functions, including notification to outside agencies (e.g., police, fire)
- Write reports, such as Incident Reports and Daily Activity Reports
- Patrol designated areas from assigned vehicle/conveyance, including a battery-powered bicycle as needed
- Additional training will be required to perform PSO II job duties
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Security experience required
- Able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- Able to perform required physical tasks and assignments, such as standing for extended periods, consistently walking patrols, and operating a battery-powered patrol bicycle
- Able to verbally communicate effectively
- Able to obtain statements from involved individuals
- Able to complete a written narrative report
- Able to engage and interact with guests in a positive manner
- Able to collaborate with co-workers across multiple departments as well as law enforcement and emergency services
- Able to deescalate a situation, determine the appropriate course of action, and resolve situations

Public Safety Officer 2Pay Details:
The starting hourly rate for this position is $26.00 per hour.The PSO 2 position is the mid-level security officer position, generally assigned specific security-related tasks and assignments related to ocV!BE properties, including Honda Center, Arena Corporate Center (ACC), Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC), and any outlying location such as any Rinks facilities. Assignments include event security positions (door and queue monitoring, guest screening, bag check, incident response), addressing disputes and resolving issues related to the event screening process, and physical infrastructure security assignments, including high-visibility patrol, construction site patrol, and/or monitoring from a static post/position. The PSO 2 is expected to take the lead when dealing with a disturbance or an incident involving disruptive conduct by a guest or visitor. Assignments also include monitoring CCTV cameras from a security operations room and performing communication functions when required to notify outside agencies (e.g., police, fire). The PSO 2 responds to and assists fellow Security and Usher staff in addressing disturbances, concerns, and conflicts occurring within an ocV!BE venue during an event. The PSO 2 receives supervision from a Security Lead or Assistant Security Manager.
