      The Prince William County Sheriff's Office is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the full-time position of Public Safety Telecommunicator (Dispatcher). We are looking for someone who has great reporting skills; can articulate messages clearly and concisely; is self-motivated; observant; detail-oriented; a team player and multi-tasker.


      ABOUT THIS ROLE:

      This position entails working in the dispatch control office handling various tasks, including but not limited to, monitoring security cameras and video footage within the courthouse and its surrounding grounds; receiving and dispatching information via radio and telephone to sheriff's deputies; coordinating inmate movement in and outside the courthouse building; and aiding other law enforcement personnel in radio traffic and prisoner activity.

      In this position, you will also work with other dispatchers providing vital and time sensitive information to law enforcement personnel through record checks for vehicle registration, property liens, criminal backgrounds, and public data sources.

      MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

      High School Diploma or G.E.D.


      SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

      Monday – Friday (40 hours a week).

      SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

      The selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment background check and is subject to the following: criminal and credit history check, education and driver’s license verification check, fingerprinting, a physical and polygraph examination.

      ENTRY HOURLY RANGE:

      $22.68 - $33.35
