      Join our team at Penguin Workshop and discover the world of children's book publishing! As an Assistant, you will have the opportunity to support our Publishers and Associate Publisher, gain valuable experience in the industry, and contribute to a diverse and collaborative team. With over 250 books published each year, including board books, picture books, chapter books, graphic novels, and more, you'll have the chance to work on a wide range of projects and imprints.       Responsibilities:

      - Provide administrative support to the Associate Publisher, VP and Publisher, G&D, Licenses & Brands, and President & Publisher, Workshop
      - Manage calendars, handle filing and mailings, and utilize online systems for various tasks
      - Schedule meetings, calls, and travel arrangements
      - Assist with author and illustrator management, including researching potential properties and communicating with literary agents and creative studios
      - Collaborate with Publicity, Marketing, Sales, and other team members within Penguin Young Readers
      - Evaluate manuscripts, write rejection letters, and respond on behalf of Workshop's Publisher
      - Support editorial administrative tasks such as P&Ls, production estimates, and cover copy
      - Assist with departmental spending, maintain monthly departmental T&E, and coordinate internal launch presentations and digital decks
      - Provide brand updates and maintain departmental directory

      Requirements:

      - Previous experience in administrative support
      - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Outlook
      - Excellent written, communication, and organizational skills
      - Ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
      - Appreciation for diverse readers and a passion for books

      Additional Information:

      - The salary for this position is $48,000
      - All positions are eligible for annual profit awards or bonuses, subject to Company results
