      Job Summary

      JOB SUMMARY:
      Responsible for performing pulmonary function tests on patients. This includes setting up and operating pulmonary function testing equipment, explaining the tests to patients, and collecting and analyzing data. The Pulmonary Function Technician will also be responsible for maintaining the pulmonary function testing equipment and ordering supplies.


      Qualifications

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Associate's Degree Respiratory Care required

      • Current MA Respiratory Licensee

      • Experience with pulmonary function testing equipment - 6 mos-1 year preferred

      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

      • Attention to detail.

      • Ability to explain pulmonary function tests to patients.

      • Ability to collect and analyze data from pulmonary function tests.

      • Ability to maintain pulmonary function testing equipment.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

      • Set up and operate pulmonary function testing equipment.

      • Explain the tests to patients and obtain their informed consent.

      • Collect and analyze data from pulmonary function tests.

      • Maintain the pulmonary function testing equipment and order supplies.

      • Document pulmonary function test results.

      • Communicate test results to physicians and other healthcare providers.

      • Provide patient education and support.
