- Assist in bid requests and assignment of suppliers to projects.
- Responsible for variance purchase orders for pricing and supplier assignment errors and making data corrections.
- Assist with processing new business partner trade agreements and monitoring insurance compliance.
- Assist in organizing lunch seminars with business partners and construction staff for product knowledge.
- Research past due POs and resolve pending payments.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Proficient knowledge of homebuilding construction process and schedule
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- High School Diploma / GED required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3 or more years of purchasing and or estimating experience in residential construction required
- Knowledge of Newstar, Hyphen, InFormXL, and Smartsheet preferred

Your help supports the overall strategy of our Purchasing Department. Our Purchasing Agent will work closely with the Purchasing Director to source labor and materials for all John Houston Homes Projects.

This position operates in a professional office environment, and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax. This position must work well in a team oriented, fast paced setting and can handle interruptions while maintaining productivity and accuracy. If traveling, employee may be exposed to weather conditions.
