Job Title:
Purchasing and Accounts Coordinator, University Culinary Services
Physical Location: Kent Campus - Kent, OH
Salary:
$41,114.00
Basic Function:
Assists and coordinates day to day purchasing activities for Culinary Services. Responsible for the menu management system data and processes to support food service operations including account setup, accuracy of system information, and overall financial performance. Reports to designated supervisor.

Examples of Duties:
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Responsible for menu management data including recipe information, nutrition, and allergen data. Validate accuracy of menu data and ensure adherence to established standards and processes.
Review, verify, and maintain menu management system information; correct for errors as needed.
Generate product, cost, and margin information.
Facilitate new account set up.
Research new products and vendors.
Monitor and support vendor relationships; resolve issues (late delivery, quality issues, etc.).
Assist in inventory, purchasing, and financial related activities.
Support procurement and purchasing activities.
Create and enforce policies and procedures for purchasing.
Support use of menu-driven purchasing and forecasting functionality, including data entry, maintenance, and operator training.
Support operational and financial processes dependent upon menu management system, including invoice processing, inventory, and item/ingredient maintenance.
Coordinate and distribute vendor order guides and pricing updates; prepare weekly and quarterly market reports.
Coordinate benchmarking information with organizations/associations (i.e., NACUFS, ASHEE) as requested.
Assist in onboarding of new contracted and sole-source vendors; maintain relationships by meeting regularly to review vendor performance, cost changes, additional accounts, sales volume and overall communication between our food service operations and the vendor.
Supervise student employees.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Additional Examples of Duties – if applicable:
Minimum Qualifications Associate degree with 3 years' experience working with purchasing systems, vendor contracts and relationships and/or inventory systems. Or a combination of education, training and professional experience equivalent to 5 years' experience working with purchasing systems, vendor contracts and relationships and/or inventory systems. Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:
Experience working in a university setting. Experience working with food service industry software. Experience working in a food service environment. Assessments:
