- Manage short-term and long-term material needs and order as appropriate.
- Place purchase orders as required from functional areas.
- Maintain contact with vendors to follow up on any past due ordered items.
- Aid in raw material inventory control by maximizing cycle counts.
- Participate in full inventory counts when required.
- Receive all items against purchase orders.
- Maintain costing spreadsheets as required.
- Provide backup support to accounts receivable when necessary.
- Run reports and compile data as required.
- Train others as necessary.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Basic understanding of computers and their use.
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9000.
- At least 1 year of purchasing or administrative experience.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Experience with Made 2 Manage.
- Administrative experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies.
- Good verifiable attendance record.
- Ability to work self-directed.
- Willingness to learn new things.
- Strong visual observation and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to interact with various departments including Operations, Accounting, Tool Crib, and Material Handling.

Job Title: Purchasing Clerk
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Clerk to manage both short-term and long-term material needs. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems, particularly Made 2 Manage. This role involves placing purchase orders, maintaining vendor relationships, and controlling raw material inventory.

Work Environment
This position requires working Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, 100% in office. The team consists of 10 people in the office including roles in accounting, engineering, customer service, and HR. The production floor has 100 employees. The job is primarily performed in a sitting position but requires occasional pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. The work environment is collaborative and supportive, with a focus on long-term employment and a positive attitude.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00/hr.
