      Overview

      Opportunity: Purchasing Coordinator

      An opportunity for a detail oriented individual to work within our purchasing department, primarily responsible for performing purchasing functions to ensure the purchases of products specified in purchasing orders, while doing so according established standards and procedures. This individual will also be responsible for general administrative functions and coordination with associates in various states across the country.

      Essential Job Functions

      • Communicate with F&B Director, Executive Chef and Sous Chefs to order all F&B products according to hotel needs and specifications.
      • Forecast operational needs and schedule deliveries of food and beverage items.
      • When necessary deliver paper products, food, and beverage to necessary departments.
      • Monitor the grades and quality of products received to ensure they meet the hotel's established standards.
      • Determine the food and beverage requirements for catering menus, and order according to guarantee of the menus.
      • Obtain bids from vendors, using the telephone and FAX machines, according to the specifications set by the department heads.
      • Ensure appropriate levels of inventories are maintained to minimize waste and maximize ratio turnover.
      • Participate in hotel meetings including weekly staff, F&B, and daily menu meeting.
      • Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
      • Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
      • Perform other duties as requested by management.

      Position Requirements

      • High School diploma required.
      • Previous purchasing/inventory experience or equivalent training preferred.

      Work Environment and Context

      • Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays and weekends.
      • Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
