      The Purchasing Specialist I works autonomously to communicate and manage the timely arrival of purchased material with supply base. Works with supply base and internal departments to ensure proper inventory levels are achieved to support 100% OTIF. Obtain the most cost-effective arrangements for products/services using essential critical thinking & problem-solving skills in conjunction with market research analysis, negotiation skills to select the best supply chain partners and monitor their performance.

      Major Responsibility's:

      • PO Release & Management – (Expedites/Reschedules/ Cancellations) Ensure On time Delivery of all required parts to support 100% OTIF, while managing optimal inventory levels.
      • Work Autonomously to Identify & Execute Cost Saving Opportunities using an all-inclusive approach (Engineering, Product Support & international companies Niella & WHV).
      • Manage small to midsize purchasing projects to improve departmental cost, delivery and quality.
      • Follow up with suppliers on quotes past the target date; review supplier quotes for completeness and compliance; advise of lead times, mins and lot sizes to load ERP system.
      • Invoice Resolution – support Manitowoc Accounting in solving any issues including pricing, receipts or handling/packaging costs
      • Review and evaluate supplier performance in terms of price, on time delivery, lead time and quality.
      • ECO planning coordination – In a timely manner, deliver new or revised documentation to the supply base and coordinate optimal transition dates for all interested parties.
      • Supplier Management - Maintain Positive supplier Relationship, Supplier Pricing, Maintain current suppliers & Supply base.
      • Represent Purchasing team in IPD projects.

      Required Skills/Abilities:

      • Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook
      • ERP systems (Baan) Purchasing
      • MRP planning (Syncron)
      • Inventory Management
      • EPMX quote system
      • Lotus Notes

      Behavioral Competencies:

      • Must be able to communicate in a professional manner, with both internal and external audiences.
      • Must have strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
      • Must be able to use logic and reasoning to identify and solve problems.
      • Strong time management skills with a sense of urgency.

      Required Education and Experience:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Materials/Purchasing
      • Must have 3 – 5 Years experience in inventory management/Materials/Supply Chain
      • In lieu of education we will consider a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in manufacturing purchasing environment.

      Preferred Education and Experience

      • Tactical and Strategic purchasing experience

      Physical Requirements:

      • Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time
      • Ability to lift 40 pounds

      Health and Safety:

      • Maintain departmental housekeeping and 5S standards.
      • Perform job functions in a safe manner.
      • Wear all Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) required by Company Policy for the job being performed both in the facility and during customer visits.
      • Know and follow established job specific and facility wide safety and health procedures and rules.
      • Actively participate in safety and health training and demonstrate competency based on training received.
      • Bring safety and health issues, unsafe acts, and safety suggestions to management’s attention or correct those you can.

      Work Environment:

      • Office and plant environment
      • Work in office 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday)
      • Work from home on Fridays (Post Training)

      Travel Required: (Percentage 0-100) International & Domestic 20%

      Pay Range:

      • Minimum: $71,067.58
      • Midpoint: $88,834.48
      • Maximum: $106,601.37
