      Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineers are part of Ford Motor Company's Product Development organization and are co-located in the Vehicle Assembly Plant with the vehicle manufacturing team. The PVT Engineer is the 'first line of defense' with regard to Functional system quality for the products produced at the assembly plant. As a Body Exterior PVT Engineer, you will provide leadership to overcome roadblocks to improving parts and processes in order to help deliver robust vehicles to the customer.

      Qualifications

      You'll have...

      • Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline, BSME preferred
      • Automotive Warranty systems knowledge such as ECB, BSAQ, GSAR, or similar


      Even better, you may have...

      • Engineering Problem Solving; root cause identification and analysis, developing Containment Actions and Permanent Corrective Actions
      • Strong understanding of body and / or EDS automotive systems
      • Ability to establish a systems engineering approach to problem solving
      • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
      • Excellent presentation skills
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools for documentation and presentation
      • Working in a fast-paced challenging environment.

      Responsibilities

      What you'll do….

      Review incoming warranty claims data on a daily basis, review customer and dealership comments, bin claims into proper binning categories, contact dealership/s for parts and repair diagnoses, participate in customer call back to ensure proper understanding of customer feedback, review returned parts for root cause analyses and develop Interim Containment and Permanent Corrective Actions.

      • Support assembly plant with Stop Ships/Stop Builds, Campaigns, Audits, Root Cause Analysis and other Quality related tasks.
      • Lead engineering commodity changes for future minor product launches and lead cost reduction actions in current production vehicles.
      • Support Variability Reduction Team (VRT) for specific sub-systems and work closely with Supplier partners for subsystem components to address quality concerns
      • Lead engineering trials and the implementation of running changes for the sub-system
      • Issue engineering Alerts and initiate and/or pursue authorization of engineering Concerns for product changes to support Quality objectives
      • Engage technical experts and functional team members for driving resolution and in developing corrective actions to improve product Quality
      • Maintain sub-system or Vehicle Functional Group (VFG) level Quality documents (SAQ, Top 20 concerns)
      • Make presentations to various levels of upper management (weekly VRT report out, Vehicle Quality Reviews, Engineering Managers reviews)
