Role Description

As a QA Engineer, you will play a pivotal role within our engineering team, overseeing the quality assurance process to ensure our software products meet the highest standards of quality before release. Your responsibilities will involve strategic planning, development of test plans and cases, and leadership over the QA team to maintain quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Your responsibilities encompass both technical expertise and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams:

Automated Regression Testing:

• Develop and maintain automated regression test scripts using tools such as Selenium Java.

Test Strategy and Planning:

• Design the test automation strategy for large, complex projects within an AGILE methodology.
• Collaborate with development teams to establish testing strategies that align with project goals.

Test Automation Framework Design and Execution:

• Lead the design and implementation of test automation frameworks using tools like HP QTP, Selenium, and Cucumber.
• Create, construct, and execute automation test cases for API web services.

Agile Planning and Bug Management:

• Contribute to team agile planning activities and backlog prioritization.
• Identify, verify, report, and regress bugs effectively.

Collaboration and Innovation:

• Work closely with product line stakeholders to understand emerging demands.
• Drive innovation by investigating and institutionalizing new tools, methods, and standards.

Technology Expertise:

• Understand the software development life cycle (SDLC) processes, including requirements, design, development, build, release management, and quality assurance.

Business Requirements and Functional Specifications:

• Collaborate with Business Analysts (BA) and Functional Analysts (FA) to comprehend business requirements and functional/non-functional specifications.

UAT Coordination:

• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users and downstream systems.
• Ensure smooth UAT execution and address any issues that arise.

Data-Driven Decision-Making:

• Provide information that enables fact-based decisions.
• Deliver accurate test results and insights to support project success.

Working Relationships:

• Foster effective working relationships with 3rd party team members, vendors,

Your key responsibilities

• Performs manual and automation testing with key focus on automation
• Creation of reusable business components of test (plans, cases, data, schedules, scripts)
• Publishes testing schedules and reports
• Create / Update Test Automation framework as per project requirement & Provide execution level support to respective teams
• Retest corrections to ensure problems are resolved
• Analyze, document and communicate results.
• Prepare and execute the test scripts / suit and ensure the test results are correctly recorded.
• Work with BA/FA and stakeholders to understand business requirements functional and non-functional specifications
• Coordinate UAT testing with business users and downstream systems.
• Provide information that enables fact-based decisions to be made
• Have a working relationship with 3rd party team members

Your skills and experience

• BE/BTech/MTech from an accredited college or university, ideally with an IT-related concentration.
• Participation and/or completion in Testing certification programs (Six Sigma, , CSTE, ISTQB, ISEB or CSTP
• Hands-on experience in the development or testing of complex software systems.
• Exposure to multiple projects in different testing environments.
