      The Group:

      Morningstar Equity Data is responsible for gathering data from over 45,000 public companies. Our datasets encompass Fundamental data and various non-Fundamental datasets like Company Profiles, Industry Classification, Corporate Actions, and Pricing. This data serves Morningstar's PitchBook platform and a range of other products.

      About the Role

      At Morningstar, our shared passion for empowering investors drives our collaboration and commitment. We're seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer to join our Equity Production team. In this role, you will work closely with our product manager, scrum master, and developers to design and develop comprehensive test plans and cases, create automated scripts for front-end and back-end testing, conduct performance tests, and develop deep expertise in our products. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and experience in automation testing, a passion for delivering high-quality products, excellent collaboration and communication skills, and a desire to learn and grow with our team . This role is based in our Toronto office.

      Job Responsibilities

      • Architect and implement robust automation frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and coverage
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive test strategies aligned with product goals
      • Design and execute end-to-end automated test suites for API testing
      • Analyze and optimize existing test processes to improve overall quality and reduce time-to- m arket
      • Implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for automated testing
      • Conduct performance testing and provide detailed analysis of system bottlenecks
      • Develop and maintain test data management strategies to ensure data integrity and test reliability
      • Mentor junior QA team members in automation best practices and emerging technologies
      • Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable automated test scripts
      • Collaborate with development teams to implement shift-left testing practices
      • Generate comprehensive test reports and dashboards to provide visibility into quality metrics
      • Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks in the software development lifecycle
      • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging tools in test automation

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Software Engineering, or related field
      • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 3 years focused on test automation
      • Strong programming skills in Java
      • Expertise in automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
      • Proficiency in API testing using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI
      • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
      • Solid understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL)
      • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps)
      • Knowledge of behaviour -driven development (BDD) frameworks like Cucumber or SpecFlow
      • Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
      • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in an Agile environment

      Nice to have

      • Knowledge of financial equity data is a plus.
      • Certification in relevant areas (ISTQB, AWS, Azure)
