Description
Fincantieri Marinette Marine, a Fincantieri Marine Group Company, is a progressive shipyard specializing in building ships for the United States Navy. We currently have an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Intern - Winter at our Marinette, Wisconsin location.
The function of the Winter Intern is to develop the skills/capabilities necessary to perform as a long-term, fulltime employee within the Quality Assurance organization at Fincantieri Marinette Marine or within the Fincantieri Marine Group. In fulfilling this function he/she will assist the various functions within the Quality Assurance department and throughout FMM with special assignments, becoming familiar with Marinette Marine standards and enabling him/her to fulfill the internship requirement for his/her school and/or resume.
Sample Projects May Include:Constructing a metric database and reporting tool for the surveys
Reviewing the CAR, internal CAR, and LM SCAR databases. Compile by process then find/create the process map and compare against current procedures and work instructions
Work with multiple departments including Quality Assurance, Manufacturing and Engineering
Verify applicable tests and inspections, as well as assist in developing a method of documenting and reporting findings.

Qualified applicants must have a High School diploma or equivalent and currently be enrolled in a college or university program working towards earning a degree in a technical, engineering or business related field. Comprehension of Microsoft Office programs is required and preference is given to those with Navis Works, AutoCAD and Access knowledge. Must be highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Project. Solid communication skills are required.
