Job Description

- Perform QC testing and assess data against pre-determined specifications on raw materials, in-process samples, and final products utilizing ICP, GC, or ELISA instruments in addition to basic laboratory testing (i.e.: weights, UV-Vis, FTIR, etc.) as per pharmacopeial or in-house methods
- Follow safe work and laboratory practices for cleaning lab glassware, equipment use and preventative maintenance, sample handling and archiving, chemical and waste handling, gas cylinder movement, and lifting items up to 15kg
- Report and participate in laboratory and product excursion investigations such as alert, action, out-of-specification (OOS), out-of-trend (OOT) and non-conformance investigations (NCI)
- Participate in process improvement by supporting system enhancements
- Write and revise quality control methods, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work procedures (WPs), help maintain reference standards and their records, participate in product specification revisions, and perform QC peer review
- Learn and apply understanding of STARLIMS lab information management software, from sample login to run completion
- Learn and perform preventative maintenance and calibration activities for laboratory and production equipment.
- Participate in validation or technical document activities.
- Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
- Strictly adhere to and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions
- Other duties as assigned
- Completion of a diploma in a science discipline
- Minimum 2 years’ experience operating and maintaining lab equipment and instrumentation
- Experience in an analytical laboratory setting is an asset
- Proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook
- Familiarity with laboratory information management system (LIMS) is an asset
- Lean Six Sigma training, or equivalent, is an asset
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong work ethic
- Must be able to lift and move items up to 15kg
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this job
- Availability for occasional overtime is an essential function of this job
- Pay Type Salary
- Min Hiring Rate $48,000.00
- Max Hiring Rate $60,000.00
