The business area:
The Microbiology Group in the Quality Assurance Department (QAD) performs Quality Control testing and process assurance activities for all production plants on Macclesfield Site plus contract work for Pharmaceutical Development.
Introduction to role:
Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We are expanding our operations and are looking a Quality Control Microbiology Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for formally clearing or rejecting products from the Quality Control laboratory teams against agreed Quality Standards within agreed customer service lead times. This role is based in the Microbiology QAD laboratories and requires flexibility to work within any one of the testing or environmental monitoring teams. Accountabilities:
As a QC Microbiology Technician, you will actively participate in microbiological product testing, environmental monitoring, microbiological and chemical water testing, microbial identification and media preparation. You will be responsible for formally clearing or rejecting products, materials and laboratory results against the agreed Quality Standards to ensure the quality, safety and efficacy of these products to the customer or user. You will also ensure that the appropriate quality systems are followed in order for the laboratory to meet its responsibilities with respect to GCLP (Good Control Laboratory Practice), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and Safety, Health and Environment.
Essential Skills/Experience:
• A level Biology minimum or equivalent or equivalent in experience
• Practical microbiological laboratory experience
• Knowledge of cGLP and GMP
• Understanding of SHE principles
• Ability to work independently out of hours
Desirable Skills/Experience:
• Degree in a Biological subject area or equivalent in experience
• Aseptic techniques and clean room experience
• Building emergency coordination
Please note there are various shift patterns you may be assigned to. Preferences will be discussed at screening and we do have a variety of weekday day shifts (Mon - Fri 8am - 4pm) and shift patterns that include working weekends.
