      Position Summary u00A0

      Make Safety a priority in everything you do. Ensure that our three product lines hot mix asphalt (HMA), aggregate and concrete production follows all required internal and external quality standards and specifications. Assist with the implementation of best practices and techniques about quality, production, delivery and placement of HMA, aggregate and concrette. Assist with establishing and achieving quality objectives for all aspects of operations, while working closely with operations, dispatch, estimators and project management.

      Duties: u00A0
      • Ensure all aspects of his/her role are executed in a safe manner.u00A0 Follow Martin Marietta safety policies at all times.
      • Establish the environment as a priority in daily activities and act as a steward to the environment.u00A0 Demonstrate a commitment to meet or exceed environmental compliance.
      • Perform work related tasks as specified according to ASTM, AASHTO, ADOT and Martin Marietta standards.
      • Work closely with plant operations on a daily basis to monitor aggregate moistures, cleanliness and uniformity. Develop close working relationships with plant operations in order to ensure the HMA, aggregate and concrete meets established quality targets.
      • Perform stockpile gradations and compare to mix design composite for compliance and communicate with aggregate operations of possible deviations.
      • Ensure good customer relations.u00A0 Must be able to communicate effectively with customers in a diverse environment.u00A0 Provide customer support in resolving quality concerns and problems in the field by working with various departments.u00A0 Educate customers in proper HMA placement and compaction techniques and verify aggregate production meets both internal and external specifications.u00A0 Concrete before leaving plant must meet both internal and external specifications.
      • Work closely with the AZ District Lab to ensure raw material sampling schedules are met, and that all daily HMA, aggregate and concrete testing results are communicated to the appropriate parties. Assist with the investigation and testing of new raw material sources and products.u00A0 Ensure quality HMA is being produced through the active testing of raw materials.u00A0 Must report all suspect results to management immediately.
      • Mainly lab work of all three product lines
      • Occasional field work will be required for both training and participating in lab related projects and mix designs.
      • Maintain a logbook of all testing conducted at the lab, plant and on-site, as well as all HMA, aggregate and concrete related observations throughout your shift.
      • Will need to sample and test aggregates from various plant locations
      • Will need on occasion to work at other lab locations within AZ. u00A0
      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficient in math, reading and writing skills.
      • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills.
      • Being mechanically inclined is very helpful. Please provide examples.
      • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
      • Ability to maintain composure in variety of situations and act in a professional manner.
      • Must be team oriented with ability to effectively manage conflict.
      • Proficient with computers and technology.
      Education and Experience
      • High school diploma or equivalent required.
      • Minimum 2 years related industry experience.
      • ACI Field 1, ATTI Lab SoilsATTI lab, field and asphalt certification is required. Additional related industry certifications preferred.
      • Radiation Safety Training Certificate.
      • Must have a valid US driver license for a minimum of two years and a clean driving record.

      • Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively.
      • Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental conditions.
      • Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk on uneven terrain.
      • Ability to work various hours including weekends, nights and overtime.
