      Job Purpose:

      Primary responsibility is to provide support for Quality initiatives in supplier quality, facility operations. The Position will ensure conformity to global quality processes defined in the Caterpillar Quality Management System (QMS) with in the assigned work area by providing expertise feedback on supplier parts inspection.

      Job Duties:

      • The incumbent will assure parts supplied by suppliers meets the Caterpillar specifications. Part inspection and Sampling plan strategy. Maintain and publish defect reports that are recorded and reported at Incoming Quality level.
      • The incumbent will inspect the quality of supplier components, (Machined, Castings, fabrication, Tubes etc). Ensure defect free components are issued to production by carrying out sorting & minor defect rework, and flag major defects. Perform root cause analysis to investigate quality issues and reporting. You will follow lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, waste elimination and standard work to problem solve and complete job tasks.
      • The incumbent is accountable for conformity to global quality processes and reporting to management on QMS process execution. The role is responsible for setting priorities, establishing review schedules for product and equipment quality control and managing Incoming Quality Audit area with good knowledge of GD&T, CMM.
      • Ensure Emergency response & Interim containment Action Plans for Incoming Part nonconformance and protect the production schedule. Work with Cross Functional team encompassing Supplier Quality, Product Engineering, Packaging team & Logistic team for root cause analysis & issue resolution.

      Background/Experience:

      1. A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with an excellent understanding of Quality management practices.

      2. Minimum 2 to 3 years of work experience in Incoming quality is desired.

      3. Requires strong communication, cooperation, and influence skills to work with all levels of employees and customers.

      4. Requires quality tools knowledge and to be able to teach other on how to properly apply quality tools or techniques.

      5. Advanced computer applications, good oral and written communications skills are a must.
