      JOB PURPOSE

To assist with the quality assurance service to the business in order to ensure that products produced by the company are fit for use by the consumers according to Company’s specifications and standards.

      WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

      Inbound

      • Analyses all incoming raw and packaging material for non-conformities against company’s specifications and standards.
      • Perform all in-process analyses
      • Submits detected non-conformities to the QA Manager, Planning and Buying in order to follow up with suppliers.
      • Is responsible for processing material returns advise and supervises removal of poor quality material from site.
      • Ensures that all transactions are recorded on SAP daily.
      • Liaise with packaging suppliers and drive corrective actions.
      • Carries out Audits in the Warehouse and Dispensary to ensure that GMP is adhered to.
      • Is responsible for processing material returns advise and supervises removal of poor quality material from site.
      • Drive packaging supplier approval with supply management

      Conversion - Manufacturing

      • Responsible for auditing the analysis of bulk materials products, test equipment used and analyses conversion procedures.
      • Ensures that Quality/measuring equipment across the factory are calibrated.
      • Monitors test results and Logs them onto the IPM (In Process System) daily.

      Packing Hall

      • Manage quality stream during packaging trials
      • Assist with export orders
      • Carries out Factory quality audits on the packed products and decides whether or not to release the finished goods to the trade.

      Outbound

      • Analyses defective stock
      • Complete comparative studies of UL vs Competitor products
      • Analyses stock age report and liaises with Logistics Officer at the warehouse on how to handle stock (e.g. old stock, out first).

      Consumer Complaints

      • Analyses consumer and customer complaints and develop quality assurance improvement systems for the factory.

      Laboratory Requirements

      • Ensures Unilever test methodology is followed
      • Scoping and specing of lab equipment where relevant
      • Manage analytical process of quality stream during trials
      • Run all analytical test require for all factories.
      • Ensure supplier meets UL standards and drive Vertice with the supplier.

      General

      • compliance in line with the detailed workplan

      Experiences & Qualifications

      • Matric with Maths & Physical Science
      • National Diploma in Food Technology / Diploma in Biotechnology or BSc in Food Science/Microbiology/Analytical chemistry
      • Understanding of HACCP requirements
      • 1-3 year experience in manufacturing environment.
      • Knowledge of SAP, Ms Word and excel.
      • Ability to analyze data and information to recommend action
