      Job Description Summary

      We are actively recruiting candidates to participate in our 2024 On-site Summer Internship program. This program is roughly 12 weeks in length and will immerse you into the culture and operations of Lonza Portsmouth.

      QA Specific Functions

      • Gain an understanding of cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) related to biopharmaceutical drug manufacture
      • Participate in internal Quality Meetings
      • Assist in generating Quality Metrics
      • Assist with generating agendas for Quality meetings
      • Participate in routine audits/GEMBA
      • Lead and/or participate in continuous improvement projects

      The internship program begins Tuesday, May 28, 2024, and ends on Friday, August 16, 2024. Potential interns must be able to commit to at least 40 hours per week throughout the duration of the summer internship.

      Required Education

      • Completion of junior year (typically 90 credits) towards a B.S. degree in a related field
      • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (out of 4) required
      • Must currently be enrolled in BS or MS Academic Program
      • Must be available to begin the Internship on Tuesday, May 28, 2024

      • Self-motivation and the ability to contribute as a team member
      • Ability to organize, plan and execute projects
      • Research skills and attention to detail

      About Portsmouth

      Our Lonza Portsmouth site is a clinical-to-commercial, multi-product manufacturing facility located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, only 56 miles north of Boston, Massachusetts. The site, which employs over 1,500 employees, is a custom manufacturer of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins using mammalian cell culture.

      We offer an onsite cafeteria, fitness center and other amenities. The city of Portsmouth is home to many restaurants, breweries, museums, and theaters. The ocean and mountains are nearby and we have major cities close by (Boston, Portland, Manchester).
