      About The Position

      The Quality Assurance Consultant ensures excellence in the Ameren Illinois Gas Operations workforce for meeting or exceeding the requirements of the Operating and Maintenance Plan, State and Federal Pipeline Safety Regulations.

      Key responsibilities include:

      • Conduct Operator Qualification (OQ) performance evaluations of Gas Field Personnel who perform covered tasks on the gas system, per the requirements of the AIC Gas Operator Qualification Plan, primarily performed at the Pawnee Gas Training Center.
      • Perform OQ evaluations in the field as needed to support Gas Operations in compliance with the Operator Qualification plan.
      • Develop, maintain and improve OQ program learning content, testing content and evaluation guidelines for the Ameren Illinois covered tasks based on the content of the AIC Operations and Maintenance Plan and the requirements of the ASME B31Q Pipeline Personnel Qualification standard.
      • Document OQ evaluation results and provide summary for review by division management. Partner with Gas Operations and Gas Training to develop remedial action plans for identified issues.
      • Perform audits of OQ plans and records for Contractors performing OQ tasks at Ameren Illinois.
      • Work with Gas Quality Assurance staff to support any OQ issues during Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) field and record audits to promote positive results. Assist in responding to any issues identified or notices of probable violation related to Operator Qualification.
      • Assist Gas Compliance and Quality Assurance in the review of deficiencies noted in the QA program and implement corrective action in the OQ program where needed.
      • Coordinate with Gas Standards and Procedures to ensure a timely and effective management of change process for the OQ program when changes to procedures, tools, and equipment are made.
      • Provide 24 hour coverage for gas emergency/incident investigation and response. Assist in the investigation of potential incidents and conduct emergency response reviews with Division Operations.

      Qualifications

      Associate’s Degree in a technical discipline or a Bachelor of Science degree required. Ten years work experience in gas operations or completion of a relevant technical trade program may be considered in lieu of a degree.

      Eight or more years of relevant experience in gas operations, engineering, or quality assurance required. Gas Journeyman Operator Qualification credentials preferred.

      In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

      Excellent working knowledge of CFR 49 Part 192 Code, National Fuel Gas Code, and Illinois Administrative Code preferred. A thorough understanding of the Ameren Operating and Maintenance Plan preferred. Good organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. Must be able to read construction drawings. Must be familiar with related technology (i.e., Maximo, Click Mobile, Epoch, OAS, DOJM, and Microsoft Office). Must have proficient writing skills. Must attain full understanding and use of Energy Worldnet OQ technology solution. Some travel required throughout the Ameren Illinois service territory.

      Compensation Range:

      $86,400.00 - $133,900.00

      At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
