This position is for a Senior Quality Engineer who will perform maintenance of the automation framework, suggest improvements, and implement them.
He/She to develop automated tests for product features and defects. There will be no team members reporting to him/her.
Should be willing to work with geographically distributed teams within normal US business hours
Ability to take ownership of small and medium-sized tasks
Perform design reviews to ensure the proposed approach meets functional requirements and follows best practices for developing automated test scripts.
Perform code reviews to ensure code and content meets defined standards and does not break existing functionality.
Provide guidance to junior members to maintain quality engineering, quality test planning, and proper test methodology.
Oversee efforts to build efficiencies in the automation framework to increase robustness while reducing runtime, maintenance, and script creation time.
Ensure understanding of issues and presents clear rationale. Uses two-way communication to influence outcomes and ongoing results.
Strong oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills
Interacting with customers in this role is possible to some extent
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, Engineering, or closely related field of study
A minimum of 3 years of software development experience
Solid experience in test automation using automation tools like Selenium WebDriver, REST Assured and TestNG.
Good programming skills using Java and ability to understand/run SQL commands in a SAFe/Agile environment.
Working knowledge of CI/CD to support continuous automation using Git and ability to run basic Linux/Unix commands is required.
Experience using image-based validation tools like Sikuli.
Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions.
Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems
Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement change in process and procedures as needed.
Understand the problems from a customer perspective and suggest creative solutions.
Demonstrates awareness about railroad industry, with knowledge on competitors and industry trends
Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts.
Experience using cloud technologies like Kubernetes, AWS.
Experience with issue-tracking and agile project management tools such as Rally, xWiki, etc

Employees should be very strong to orally communicate clearly in English

Remaining in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods

The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.

Next-Generation Terminal Operating System (NGTOS) an intermodal terminal operations solution combining cloud deployment with state-of-the-art visualization, configurable rules engine, systems integration, and built-in analytics for better decisions, efficient container processing, improved equipment, resource utilization, and faster gate processing. The Sr. QA Engineer is responsible for the development and execution of automated test scripts to ensure a high-quality product is delivered to our NGTOS customers.
