- Responsibility to provide daily leadership to the Quality Assurance Department to include time and attendance
- Responsibility for development, training and implementation of process control and preventive controls procedures
- Responsibility for full implementation of Corporate Food Safety and Quality Assurance Policies within plant
- Responsibility to for PCQI role in Food Safety Plan and Regulatory Inspection Team within plant
- Responsibility to ensure QA Lab Staff perform Standardized inspection and testing program to assure safety and quality of products and processing environment
- Responsibility to maintain Analytical and Microbiology Lab Equipment and Calibration schedule
- Responsibility for Laboratory Budget to include coordinating service for laboratory equipment
- Champion for GFSI Audit (BRC or SQF) and Lead Auditor at plant level
- Technical Expert and Point of Contact for Customer, State, and Federal Regulatory Audits
- Responsibility for Quality Scorecard and associated records to include: Key Quality Indicators, Customer Complaints, Sanitation Program Compliance, Preventive Control Compliance, Food Safety Training, and Internal Auditing
- Responsibility for Quality Reporting for Public Customers and direct communication where appropriate.
- Actively participate in Continuous Improvement Processes (A3, PDCA, SPC, Affinity, Kaizen)
- Provide support to Corporate Product Development Managers for first production runs and trials.
- 4-year college degree in Food Science, Biological science, Chemistry, or related field is strongly preferred
- Supervisory experience working in Food Manufacturing with Beverage Manufacturing preferred
- Certification in HACCP Principles and Preventive Controls for Human Food
- Demonstrated ability to organize, supervise and direct a diverse workforce
- Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative, sense of urgency, and flexibility
- Competent in Continuous Improvement, Statistical Process Control, Lean Tools
- Knowledgeable in HACCP & PCHF Food Safety Plans, GMPs, SDS, CFR's, and other state and federal regulatory requirements
- Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite and Visio preferred
- Knowledge of Food and/or Beverage Process Flow and associated Process and Preventive Controls
- Demonstrated ability to work independently without constant supervision or monitoring
- Ability to function strategically in fast-paced production environment
